Landforms is an oil painting depicting a geographical diagram of landforms on one pangaeic continent. The reference was originally appropriated from an image from the Instagram account @dn.usa. Using this image as reference, I gathered images of each landform from Instagram and Google images, then photo-bashed the images together to create a uniform image. This piece explores how to keep attention in an attention-demanding visual culture economy. Regurgitating 2 modes of visual information, (the meme and personal photography meant to share with followers) my process included cycling and regressing to form an image from clone stamping these images on photoshop, then mechanically applying these images by painting.
